Daywise Itinerary

Day 1. Transfer to Cherrapunji from Guwahati

⦁ Morning Start: Start your journey from Guwahati airport early in the morning.

Drive towards Cherrapunji, en route through the lush greenery, rolling hills, and waterfalls of Meghalaya.

Overnight stay at Cherrapunji.

Day 2. Trip to Mawlynnong Village, Dawki River and Single Root Bridge

Today we shall visit some famous places of Cherrapunji:

⦁ Mawlynnong Village visit: This village is also known as the “God’s own Garden” as the village is the cleanest in Asia. The villagers of the community maintained the village with the beauty of its surroundings and bamboo dustbins. Every villager strictly follows the cleanliness process which led to be Mawlynnong village a model of cleanliness. The people of Mawlynnong are very humble and welcoming to show their way of life and traditions.

⦁ Dawki River: It is also known as Umgnot River. It is one of the fresh rivers of Meghalaya, famous for its crystal-clear waters which take the boating experience to the next level. The river is crystal clear in winter time rivers will be at their cleanest, allowing you to see the riverbed.

⦁ Single Root Bridge or Living Root Bridge: In the Khasi and Jaintia hills, there are natural root bridges called ’Living root bridges’. The bridge is made from the aerial roots of rubber trees. The Khasi and Jaintia tribes have made it a steady and grown bridge over the centuries. The single root bridge is referred to as a bridge that is made out of a single root of the tree. The major attraction in Meghalaya attracts tourists from all over the world to witness its natural beauty.

Day 3. Cherrapunji Sightseeing

⦁ Start your day with a lovely breakfast at your hotel, and prepare for a day to explore the gem of Cherrapunji which includes;

⦁ Nohkalikai Falls – Situated at a height of 1115 feet, the Nohkalikai Falls is the tallest waterfall in India. Visitors will be dazzled by the beauty of this waterfall as you experience this rare moment.

⦁ Seven Sisters Falls – Located south of the Mawsmai village, the Seven Sisters Falls is one of the most beautiful waterfalls in Meghalaya. The fall is situated at a height of 1033 feet over the top of limestone cliffs of the Khasi Hills.

⦁ Mawsmai Cave – one of the major tourist attractions in Northeast, the Mawsmai Cave is visited by tourists throughout the year. This waterfall is best for those who want to experience the surreal beauty of nature.

⦁ Arwah Cave – The Arwah Cave in Cherrapunjee is a beautiful spot for all nature lovers. One can spot a diverse range of flora and fauna in this place.

Day 4. Drop at Guwahati Airport

Check out by late morning or early afternoon, depending on your flight timing, your driver will transfer you Airport in Guwahati where the tour ends with lots of memories of the scenic landscapes and majestic waterfalls of Cherrapunji.
