Daywise Itinerary

Day 1. Transfer to Cherrapunji from Guwahati

⦁ Morning Start: Start your journey from Guwahati airport early in the morning.

Drive towards Cherrapunji, en route through the lush greenery, rolling hills, and waterfalls of Meghalaya.

Overnight stay at Cherrapunji.

Day 2. Cherrapunji Sightscene and transfer to Shillong

Today will proceed towards Shillong which is located at a distance of nearly 54 km and takes almost 1-2 hours by road .

First will do sightseeing of Cherrapunjee like:

⦁ Seven Sister Falls: It is also well known as Nohsngithiang Falls, Seven sister waterfall is named after the seven parallel falling waterfalls down a high limestone cliff.

⦁Nohkalikai Falls: The waterfalls are covered by dense forest and mist which looks extremely beautiful from the viewpoint. You cannot go near the waterfall.

⦁ Arwah cave: This cave is situated in the village of Laitkynsew surrounded by dense forest and picturesque landscapes. This cave is formed by natural limestone and believed to be millions of years old, the visitors have to explore this cave with the help of torchlight.

⦁ Mawsmai Cave: The cave is famous for its detailed limestone, stalactites, and stalagmites. Unlike other caves in Meghalaya, this cave is easily accessible to any age group. The path of this cave is clear making it easy for people to explore and witness the beauty.

⦁ Weisawdong Falls: The multi-tiered waterfall of Cherrapunji is famous for its lush forest and peaceful environment. You have to do a short hike to reach the waterfalls.

Day 3. Day trip to Mawlynnong, Dawki River and Single Root Bridge

Today we will proceed towards Mawlynnong Village, the cleanest village in Asia, and do the nearby sightseeing.

⦁ Mawlynnong Village: The village is also known as the “God’s own Garden”. The villagers of the community maintained the village with the beauty of its surroundings and bamboo dustbins. The people of Mawlynnong are humble and welcoming to show their way of life and traditions.

⦁ The Balancing Rock: The balancing rock at Mawlynnong Village is the main attraction, a large boulder remains perfectly balanced on small rocks. People say it is a natural wonder.

⦁ Dawki River: It is also known as Umngot River. It is famous for its crystal-clear waters which take the boating experience to the next level. The river is crystal clear in wintertime allowing you to see the riverbed.

⦁ Single Root Bridge or Living Root Bridge: Single Decker is made up of aerial roots of rubber trees. The Khasi and Jaintia tribes have made it a steady and grown bridge over the centuries. The single root bridge is referred to as a bridge that is made out of a single root of the tree. The major attraction in Meghalaya attracts tourists from all over the world to witness its natural beauty.

Day 4. Drop at Guwahati Airport

Check out by late morning or early afternoon, depending on your flight timing, your driver will transfer you Airport in Guwahati where the tour ends with lots of memories of the scenic landscapes and majestic waterfalls of Cherrapunji.
